Reynolds Professional Administrative Faculty Senate recently
sponsored a supply drive collecting personal care items for donation to Crossover
Health Care Ministry.
Established by volunteers in 1983, Crossover Health Care
Ministry provides quality and compassionate health care to the uninsured in the
greater Richmond Metropolitan area, operating two free clinics in Richmond and
serving more than 6,800 individuals annually. The individuals they serve often
have to choose between food, shelter and health insurance.
Items requested for donation included soap, deodorant,
dental floss, toothpaste, toothbrushes, laundry detergent, shampoo, razors and
other personal care items.
The end result? Reynolds faculty and staff donated a total
of 635 much-needed and appreciated toiletry items.
On behalf of the PAFS, Marianne McGhee exclaimed, “Thanks for a great haul
to support a great organization! And, a special shout-out to Carol Rodi for her
tireless behind-the-scenes work on our two successful supply drives this year!”
